Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced hands-on House Manager for a formal family based in Palm Beach and Wellington, FL. Previous experience in household management within a formal residence is required. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the interior and exterior of both residences. This position is full-time, live-out, requiring flexibility with schedules and travel. This position reports to the Estate Manager, and works closely with the Principals and family office. The family is looking to fill this position by April 2019.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • A versatile hands-on manager, able to assist and fill in as needed
  • Hire, train and supervise housekeepers, housemen, chef, servers, driver and other staff
  • Perform walk-throughs and inspections to ensure timely completion of all assigned duties
  • Schedule, assign and assist with seasonal deep cleaning projects
  • Maintain and update household operating and standards manuals
  • Management of household inventories, and implementing new organizational strategies
  • Regular errands to include but not limited to grocery shopping, dry cleaning, receiving and sending of packages
  • Greeting of guests and visitors, answering telephone and taking messages, general mail and correspondence
  • Calendar management for social, family, and travel itineraries
  • Assist with event planning and execution, creative table setting, bartending, provide semi-formal or formal food and beverage service
  • Schedule and supervise trades and vendors
  • Knowledge of household security systems
  • Ensure both homes are ready for the Principals’ arrival
  • Other duties as required, to include but not limited to; butler duties, valeting, floral arranging, plant care, pet care, vehicle maintenance and occasional driving

Applicant Qualities:

  • Minimum 3 years House Manager experience working in a formal private residence
  • Must possess excellent time management skills, work well under pressure, be punctual, courteous, possess keen attention to detail and follow through on all projects assigned
  • Must be service oriented, able to anticipate principals’ and guests’ needs
  • A strong leader, a team player, who is able to motivate and work with staff to ensure a positive outcome
  • Tech savvy and computer literate; knowledgeable and experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times; exercise diplomacy, discretion, and respect boundaries
  • Polished professional presentation
  • Excellent English and Spanish language skills
  • Must have a valid, clean driver’s licence
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the United States

Salary is commensurate with experience.
