Have you ever been excited about hiring someone because they claim to have specific skills only to discover the disappointing truth after they have started working in your home?
While an interview can give you a sense of an applicant’s personality, it cannot tell you if the person truly knows how to iron a shirt or set a dinner table. In most cases, you are at the mercy of an applicant’s word.
Have you ever employed a housekeeper who told you in the interview that she is excellent with laundry only to find out a month afterwards that what she was particularly talented at was shrinking your favorite garments?
Taking an applicant at their word usually represents the extent of what most Domestic Agencies do when they interview. Your home becomes an on-the-job proving ground. In our opinion, your home is the wrong place to test an applicant’s skills. The evaluation should occur before you go to the expense of hiring.
We test our applicants’ skills so you don’t have to
The trained interviewers at Charles MacPherson Placement perform their interviews with a difference. We actually test the housekeeper’s claim to excellence by having them demonstrate their skills. We believe that an applicant’s word is good, and honesty is certainly a very valuable commodity, but in an interview an applicant’s word should never be enough.
Our trained interviewers have access to the Charles MacPherson Academy’s training laboratory so that an applicant’s skill level can be certified. At the Academy, interviewers use all the tools and products of a fine home, including Miele® washers, dryers, rotary irons and vacuum cleaners, to evaluate each applicant BEFORE they are presented to you. We do not waste our clients’ time.
Our Interview Evaluations include…
We share the results with our Clients
A 5-point system is used to grade the applicants so that their skill level is quantified. The results are then shared with our clients so that they are kept fully informed.
We are all familiar with the risks and challenges of hiring a new employee. At Charles MacPherson Placement, we do our best to minimize these risks through an enriched, skills-focused interview process.
Saving time for our clients as well as unnecessary expense, that is the Charles MacPherson Placement difference.
