A Bay Area family is searching for an experienced butler who is grounded, has common sense, is flexible to changing schedules, and team oriented. This role will be expected to see to the day-to-day needs of this young and growing family by maintaining a seamlessly run household. Position is full-time and live-out.
 
Position Overview:
 
The position is responsible for managing the day-to-day affairs of the primary residence, to maintain an efficient and productive working environment through a hands-on style of service working in conjunction with other staff as a productive team. Applicants should be polished relaxed professionals who are service oriented with a keen understanding and ability to anticipate the needs of the principals.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all properties; primary and weekend properties are maintained and ready for family.
  • Regularly tour and assess needs of the properties for inventories and vehicle management.
  • Manage and monitor household inventories on a regular basis for each property.
  • Follow procedure in household manual and keep current with new entries.
  • Prepare household for entertaining & visitors: set table, assist chef with serving as requested, greet guests upon arrival.
  • To provide family with food & beverage services for meals and entertaining.
  • Manage the principal’s wardrobe; oversee laundry/dry cleaning as well as organization.
  • Create checklists for family travel needs, assist with packing / unpacking.
  •  Shop for personal items for the principals.
  • Oversee any moves into or out of properties (for renovations, new homes, etc.).
  • Manage housekeeping staff and schedules to ensure efficiency and good coverage of residence.
  • Assist with managing expense reports & staffing schedules / payroll.
  • Assist Estate Manager in special projects and events as needed.
 
Applicant Qualities:
 
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and accommodating to being available as required by principal’s travel itinerary. 
  • A polished professional who is flexible, self-motivated and energetic, who can work as a team player with existing staff in residence.
  • Experience and working knowledge of advanced home systems & technology, computer literacy is a must.
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, multi-tasking and attention to detail with follow through from start to finish along with strong organizational skills.
  • Applicants should have the proven skills and abilities to problem solve with excellent communication.
  • Experience and knowledgeable of informal and formal food and beverage service and event management.
  • Must have a respect for boundaries, exercise discretion, privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle and clean driving record.
  • Must have a valid passport with no restrictions for travel.
  • Must be eligible to work in The United States.
Salary and benefits will be dependent on previous experience and employment.
