Private Chef

Private family seeking an experienced Chef for a part-time, live-out position for primary residence located in Brampton, Ontario. Scheduled workdays are Monday to Thursday, with hours being 4:00 PM to 8:00PM. A flexible cooking style with emphasis on healthy, low fat, organic and fresh seasonal ingredients.
Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities include but not limited to daily cooking of family style meals, menu planning, grocery shopping, manage pantry inventories and serving of meals. Position requires chef to maintain daily cleanliness and equipment maintenance. Applicants should be flexible with schedules to accommodate occasional weekend events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Applicant must have excellent cooking skills to prepare family style and quality meals that are health conscious and nutritious.
- All menu plans to be reviewed and approved on weekly basis for minimal duplication of meals.
- Preparing daily meal consisting primarily of diner for principals and guests in residence.
- Responsible for marketing and groceries.
- Daily management of the kitchen and pantry stocks.
- Daily maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen and equipment keeping kitchen organized and efficient at all times.
- Occasional event planning for social and family style occasions, prep and service for dinner parties.
- To encourage family members to participate with cooking of simple meals.
Applicant Qualities:
- Must be flexible with work schedules and accommodating to being available.
- Applicants must be pleasant, patient and very service oriented having a neat & polished appearance at all times.
- Applicants should be comfortable with children to encourage participation with cooking and learning.
- Excellent cooking skills with food and beverage service experience a must.
- Excellent time management, punctuality, multi-tasking and attention to detail with follow through from start to finish along with strong organizational skills are required.
- A relaxed yet polished professional who is flexible, self-motivated and with positive energy.
- Must have a sense and respect of boundaries, exercise discretion with privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Salary will be dependent on previous experience and employment.
