The invention of the dishwasher has been an extraordinary remedy for housework. As butlers and household managers working in private homes, we rely on dishwashers to do the day-to-day heavy lifting while we can focus on other things.
But dishwashers are not necessarily as straight forward as one might think. Andrew Gayman, Academy Director, appeared recently on Global’s The Morning Show to set the record straight on how to properly leverage the help of the humble dishwasher.
Charles MacPherson is the Founder and President of Charles MacPherson Associates (CMA), a leading authority in household management, private service, hospitality, and customer-service training. After nearly a decade as major-domo for one of Canada’s most prominent families, he founded CMA in 1996 to advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth households on the management and operation of exceptional homes.
In 2009, Charles established The Charles MacPherson Academy in Toronto, where he has helped prepare butlers, house managers, housekeepers, and other private-service professionals for the demands of modern service. His work has shaped butler and service standards internationally, with clients including Queen Mary 2, Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai, Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, Louis Vuitton, and the Royal Bank of Canada.
Charles is the author of four Penguin Random House books, including The Butler Speaks, and hosts the weekly SiriusXM programme Cordially Yours.
